Jonathan Drapkin discusses technology, transportation, housing and taxes

LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. (APRIL 17, 2008) Jonathan Drapkin, president and CEO of the Pattern for Progress, will discuss a wide range of economic development issues facing the region during a breakfast meeting on Wednesday April 23, 2008 at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation.

The talk is a part of HVCFI's monthly Entrepreneurs Breakfast Series held at 703 Grant Avenue in Lake Katrine from 8:00-10:00 a.m. A $10 donation is suggested for those who RSVP and $15 who do not reserve a spot. Mr. Drapkin will discuss balancing growth with conservation at a time when the local, state and national economy are uncertain. "We are facing a multitude of critical and complex issues from growth at Stewart Airport to attempts to control growth near Bellaeyre Mountain," said Drapkin, whose organization has tracked growth in the Hudson Valley for nearly 45 years.

"The population is aging and the middle class is moving out. Technology companies play an important role in the region's ability to survive and thrive," said Drapkin.

The timing could not be more perfect for Jonathan to speak at the Center for Innovation, said Les Neumann, managing director of the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation. "Jonathan sees and understands the assets and liabilities of the seven individual counties Patter for Progress serves," said Neumann.

Drapkin believes the successful stewardship of the region can be found by developing a regional vision for transportation, healthcare, education, training and housing.

HVCFI's Breakfast Series will be webcast to the economic development and technology satellite office located at the Sullivan County Community College.

Prism's new type of photovoltaic module uses transparent holographic optical elements in its design. This innovative, patented holographic technology, collects and spectrally selects useful wavelengths from the sun and focuses them onto the cell to create electricity.

Prism’s core technology also allows passive tracking, which can achieve higher output in the morning and late afternoon while reducing the amount of expensive silicon necessary in a module. Prism PV modules minimize the use of expensive solar cells in their modules but still maintain above average output.

Prism's patented technology maximizes sun power in cell to electricity generation

LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. (January 23, 2008) Prism Solar Technologies, Inc. (PST) has moved into 2,500 square of office space at the at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation to grow its core team and develop a long-term manufacturing strategy.

"Prism and the Solar Energy Consortium are working closely together as it sets its long-term strategy," said Vincent Cozzolino, CEO the Solar Energy Consortium.

"The space located at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation provides a perfect environment for our expected quick growth. Prism Solar Technologies, Inc. is expected to grow to 20 employees at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation, according to Lewandowski.

SOLAR ENERGY CONSORTIUM LEADERS ADDRESS CENTER FOR INNOVATION BREAKFAST SERIES ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 23

TESEC President and CEO Cozzolino to discuss solar impact on regional business

LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. (JANUARY 17, 2008) Vincent Cozzolino, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Consortium (TESEC), will be the featured speaker at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovations Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Seminar held on Wednesday January 23rd.

Cozzolino will be joined by SUNY New Paltz Dean and TSEC Core Leader John Harrington at the breakfast seminar from 8:00 a.m. To 10:00 a.m. at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation located at 703 Grant Avenue in Lake Katrine.

TSEC is expected to provide 300 to 500 jobs in the initial phase and upwards of thousands of jobs in the region within the next several years. It will be headquartered in Kingston.

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (October 19, 2007) United States Senator Hillary Clinton has endorsed Democratic and Working Families candidate Jonathan Sennett for Ulster County District Attorney.

"Jonathan Sennett's experience as a tough prosecutor in the Bronx and a seasoned defense attorney in the Hudson Valley make him the best choice for Ulster County District Attorney," said Senator Clinton.

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. (October 2, 2007) United States Senator Chuck Schumer, New York's senior senator, today endorsed Jonathan R. Sennett for Ulster County District Attorney.
