CENTER FOR INNOVATION HOSTS GREEN MARKETING SEMINAR

EFFECTIVE GREEN MARKETING FOCUS OF CENTER FOR INNOVATION BREAKFAST
Learn how small and large companies profit from green marketing

LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. (March 16, 2009) The Hudson Valley Center for Innovation (HVCFI) will host a breakfast seminar on Wednesday March 25 on the benefits and pitfalls of green marketing.

The breakfast seminar held from 8-9:30 at 703 Grant Avenue in Lake Katrine will feature Beth Bengtson, an expert in developing green marketing strategies. Those wishing to attend should RSVP to specialevents@hvcfi.com. A donation of $10 with a reservation and $15 at the door is suggested.

Bengtson is the former VP of Corporate Social Responsibility at imc2, a top-tier digital marketing and communications company serving major blue-chip companies.

Seminar attendees will learn how companies have successfully implemented green marketing campaigns and how others have missed the mark. "Using green marketing appropriately has been shown to increase a company's bottom line but they have be able to walk their talk. The internet and the use of social media has enabled a new level of transparency into company’s behavior," said Bengtson.

Entrepreneurs can play a role in developing products and services that support the environmentally friendly practices of global companies. "Green marketing is not a trendy strategy. It is essential for the long-term survival of companies and the environment," said Les Neumann, managing director of the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation.
