RHINEBECK, N.Y. (September 5, 2007) The Sixth Annual Hudson Valley Food and Wine Festival will offer people from around the tri-state area samples from 50 wineries and dishes from the region’s top restaurants. The three-day event runs from Friday September 6 through Sunday, September 8 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.

“This has become a premier event in the Northeast for those who enjoy and appreciate good wine and good food. Rhinebeck is the perfect place to have this late-summer festival,” said event organizer Michael Babcock, president of festival sponsor WineRacks.com.

The event will begin with a Grand Reserve Tasting on Friday September 6 from 6-9 p.m. “Guests can sip wonderful vintages from wineries from around New York state and for nominal fee can sample spectacular signature dishes from the region’s top chefs,” said Babcock.

The festival will continue on Saturday from 12-6 p.m. and Sunday 12-5 p.m. At 1 p.m. on both days, Christine Ansbacher, The Wine Diva, will offer a wine seminar, Instant Wine Savvy, and share 10 tips to save you time, money and aggravation when selecting a wine.

Cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs are scheduled hourly on both days. Chef Peter X. Kelly, fresh from his win over Bobby Flay on the TV Food Network show Iron Chef America, will share his culinary secrets on Saturday at 1 p.m.
